There are thousands of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) from Western countries, attempting to help African nations by providing funding and/or volunteers.
In 2013, I traveled to Tanzania to work with one of these organizations as a Film Production Intern. The organization worked closely with a man named Dzinyeto, a teacher at a school in a local fishing village, just outside of Dar es Salaam. Dzinyeto was kind enough to take us for a walk through the village, with camera in hand.
This documentary film examines some of the lesser known issues that locals in Africa face when they attempt to work with these organizations.
